 2022 - 2023 CSUF Pre-Dental Society's Executive Board

Hi everyone, my name is Britney Doan, I’m a fourth-year, Public Health Science major and your President. I joined the Pre-dental Society not only to explore the field of dentistry and how to become a successful applicant but to also build connections and make relationships with people who have the same passion as I do. My goal is to welcome students to our club and show them the opportunities it has to offer for those interested in Dentistry. I found my love of Dentistry through my parents. Throughout many years I’ve traveled with them to underprivileged communities in Vietnam, where they’ve touched so many lives with the work that they do. In the future, I hope to do the same as a general practitioner. As for right now, I continue to go with them on their mobile care trips not only shadowing them but also showing young children in Vietnam proper oral hygiene instructions. In my free time I enjoy reading, photography, and watching old, classic movies or some of my favorite TV shows like Friends, Gilmore Girls, and Grey's Anatomy. When I’m not at home or in class I love trying different kinds of food, swimming, running, and spending time with my friends and family. If you need anything or have any questions please feel free to ask me, my door is always open!

Hi, fellow Pre-Dents, my name is Daisy Zuniga, and I am the Vice President of the Pre-Dental Society Club on campus. I am a Public Health major, and this is my second to last semester at CSUF. I started off as a Biochemistry Major and soon enough realized I did not like Chemistry enough to pursue this degree. I found Public Health interesting and was recommended by my advisor to change to this major. I became interested in the dental field after working as a dental assistant. For over a year, I have shadowed and worked with various dentists and have become more passionate about dentistry. One of my goals this year is to become more involved in the dental community. In my spare time, I like to read, hang out with friends, and partake in any outdoor activity!

Hello everyone! My name is Lia Castillo and I am a 4th-year biology major serving as the treasurer for the Pre-Dental society. I joined PDS to meet other individuals with the same passion for dentistry as well as to expand my knowledge on the various routes and job opportunities for individuals interested in the dental field. Growing up, I was always going to different dentists and it was hard to find one that I felt safe with which made me want to go into dentistry in the event that I could be that someone that made patients visits easier and something to look forward to. During the pandemic, I sought out internship experience and was able to intern at a private dental office which really ignited my passion for teaching patients proper oral care as well as teaching the new interns patient care and the mechanics behind running a dental office. In the future, I hope to pursue a career in dental hygiene and teach dental hygiene courses at the college level. When I am not working at the office I enjoy going to the movies, lifting at the gym, trying new food spots, and being with my dog. I wish everyone a happy, fun-filled semester, and just know that if you have any questions, I’m an email away !

Hello! My name is Natalia Quinones, and I am the Dental Outreach Coordinator of the Pre-Dental Society. I am a fourth-year undergraduate student majoring in Biology with a concentration in Cell and Development and minoring in Chicano Studies. I joined PDS my first year at Cal State Fullerton and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my career. Throughout my time as a member of this organization I have learned many new things about dentistry and have been introduced to many dentistry-related opportunities. I have been actively pursuing my interest in dentistry since I was in high school. After gaining practical involvement from my first time shadowing my orthodontist, I began to further fall in love with the idea of doing that as my career. The opportunities I have come across over the years have reaffirmed and established my desire in pursuing dentistry and helped me picture myself practicing the dental profession. Apart from my involvement in PDS, I am also in a professional biology fraternity called Beta Psi Omega. Most of my time on campus is spent in class, studying in the library, participating in extracurriculars, and working out in the Student Recreation Center. When I am not on campus I like to go to the beach, paint, go on road trips, volunteer, spend time with friends, and go to amusement parks. Wishing you the best of luck this school year; if you have any questions or just want to get in touch feel free to contact me :)

Hi everyone, my name is Erica Esteban, and I am a fourth-year biochemistry major here at CSUF and the Volunteer Coordinator for the Pre-Dental Society. I joined PDS because I wanted to build connections with other students interested in dentistry and also to explore the different perspectives the field involves. Although I come from a family of dentists, I became interested in dentistry during my senior year of high school after I shadowed my dentist and eventually got my dental assisting license. For many years, I have had opportunities to work as a dental assistant and volunteer at various mobile clinics locally and internationally, contributing to my growing passion for pursuing the field of dentistry. Along with PDS, I am also a board member of the Student Health Professions Association as the Dental Chair. During my free time, I enjoy watching k-dramas, video editing, and driving anywhere locally or long distance! I also love traveling, finding foodie spots, volunteering with my church, and going to concerts. Being active in PDS has enhanced my dental experience, and I hope I can help other pre-dental students gain the same passion for this health profession through the dental opportunities our club offers. I can’t wait to bond with you all, and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me!

Hello everyone! My name is Natalie Tran and I am a fourth-year biochemistry major at CSUF. I am currently the Secretary of the Pre-Dental Society and for my dental goals, I hope to open my own practice one day and specialize in orthodontics. I’ve always been artistic as a kid and love how dentistry is a form of art as well. Being able to form genuine relationships with patients, and teaching them the importance of oral health while serving my community is ultimately why I want to pursue this field! Joining PDS has enriched my dental experience and has helped me solidify my passion for this health profession. During my free time, I like to watch anime and k-dramas and read webtoons, manga, and books! I also like playing tennis and volunteering at my local church as a youth leader. With that being said, I can’t wait to see you all at our events this year, and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me!

Hi everyone! My name is Megan Hary and I am the publicity coordinator for the Pre-Dental Society at Cal State Fullerton. I am a biology major with a concentration in molecular and biotechnology, I also have a minor in chemistry! I have been a part of this club for two years now and am so excited to make my last year here the best one! I am currently not sure what I want to specialize in but getting into dental school for general dentistry is my main goal! I grew up around dentists because my mom is a dental hygienist so my interest in dentistry sparked at a very young age. During my free time, I love hiking, taking walks, swimming, and cooking! PDS has been amazing so far and I can’t wait for another great year!

My ultimate goal is to become a general or cosmetic dentist with my own clinic. Dentistry is important to me because teeth are vital to everyday life. I want to help people overcome obstacles and help them feel confident in their smiles. My hobbies include playing “We’re Really Not Strangers” with my friends and drinking tons of boba. Pre-Dental Society NSM ICC Rep

Jade Ha

Hello everyone, my name is Jade Ha, and I am a fifth-year Public Health major with a minor in Pre-Health Profession. I am currently ICC Rep for our Pre-Dental Society. My passion for dentistry was fueled by the dentists that I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with. They have shown me compassion and resilience by never giving up on patients regardless of their disadvantaged backgrounds. I receive much happiness from the action of helping others by alleviating dental pain. Thus, I begin my dental journey through engagement with like-minded peers in the Pre-Dental Society. I could share my joy and struggles among friends who also have intentions of becoming future dentists. During my free time, I enjoy trying different cuisine with my family. I am excited to see all of you at our general meeting!
